anyone heard of a sulphur reactor?

basically its a denitrate reactor that uses sulphur media to feed nitrate removing bacteria much like biopellets and denitrators that use a carbon source. the sulphor media drops the ph of your water and you use a calcium media to raise the ph back up befor the water returns to the tank.

does anyone use one of these? ive heard some good things about them and it seems to  be easier and more consistant than running biopellets.
