nice set up i like it! do you know what the height and width of the sump is just so i can look in my stand and make sure it fits? Also if i wanted to make the return area bigger could i move the baffles with a little effort?

I would definately be interested in the sump man! It would save me a lot of hassle to build my own and get everything together quicker.

agreed wet dry is a old school thing and just becomes a nitrate factory. i would just get a large and nice skimmer im using a reef octopus xs200 on my 125 build and love it! worth every dime without a doubt!  and use a filter sock, and thats it! you could aways put a refugium in your sump as well which in my opinion isnt going to do a whole lot to lower nitrates/phosphates but it does help some but what it will do is add bio diversity and you will have a lot of fun looking at the critters in there

there are some other things you can decide on later down the road like gfo or bio pellets.

but i would say one of the most important things to worry about in the begining is water flow, a good skimmer and making things easy to acess and work on so using a 55g will peobably be way to tall for your stand and make everything hard to get to, a 40gb would be perfect or a 20 gal long,

i have a 30gallon 3ft sump thats for sale if your interested it has skimmer/refugium/return sections. the return section is small so you would need a auto top off for sure  i would let you have it for $20 if you want it

Wet/dry filtration is totally old school, and not needed.

Hello everyone! I was just wondering about filtration. I bought a wet/dry filter with my 125 gallon tank. I will be doing a FOWLR. Would i be better off using the filter i already have or building a sump out of lets say a 55 gallon tank? Advice is appreciated! Thank you!
