I think I'd disassemble everything that got wet and Dry it with paper towels real good. To be safe. Wipe everything good inside and out, it'll be the life of your Powerstrip/Timer. How bout a blow dryer? PVC cleaner (the clear Acetone stuff) will displace any moisture and dry in a few seconds. Good Luck Man,

no haven't got around to the mesh mod, so far just have attempted to do it with the fishing line as i couldn't find any mesh to do it with. i talked with matt and am gonna get a piece next time i'm out to try and do the mod.
-i got a question though, with a little water getting into the surge protector is that unsafe to use now? i can plug it up now and it doesn't do anything funny or make noises or anything so it seems ok but i can't decide...what do u think? i'd hate to have to buy another $30 timer surge protector but its definitely not worth using if anything like that puts it at risk or whatever
Hey Mike, The Current Skimmer did the same thing to me but I was standing there while it happened, Fixed it and went on with life.
Solution: The end of the Air line needs to stay well above the water line to keep a siphon from starting. I took a much longer piece of tubing and used a clothes pin to pin it up higher. There are those tiny Cool Colored plastic clamps, they come in a pack of 3 for a couple of bucks. I think they would look better than a clothes pin.....I've included a 2 pics.
Also, you can purchase an airline "Check Valve" to remedy this problem.

So yesterday I had a real close encounter of which I hope to never see again. My skimmer at times in the past when I turn off the power to it, will attempt to siphon some water out of the venturi hose if the air silencer thing is facing down or so by accident, but only really at those times has it ever tried to pour out water. Well yesterday I was in another room, everything running on the tank just fine, haven't even touched anything on it for the day and i noticed the breaker for the room was tripped as nothing was on in my room. Ends up the skimmer decided to pour water out for no reason (and not out the top of the collection cup), i'm assuming it out was through the venturi hose and pouring it around erradically and put water into the surge protector. Luckily that tripped the breaker before anything worse could happen but now I'm faced with the delimma that I'm not sure if i should hook that skimmer back up as I'm afraid of it giving a repeat performance, at least I was home when it happened yesterday. And without having that running on my tank right now I'm already noticing some effects slightly starting to begin. Its things like this that as much as I love every thing I've done with this hobby, that I almost want to get rid of the tank its not worth having my apt burn up and then some. Anyone else had this bad of an experience with their superskimmer? I'm trying to get ahold of coralife to discuss this with them but of course they aren't returning my calls thus far...
