Pretty neat stuff. Ive used it with some success. Its expensive but requires very little. It also lasts for a good bit. If your interested in trying some, give me a shout and Ill hook ya up. I bought a big thing of it a while back. Just throw it in a panty hose and drop it in.
hello all, i was looking for another product when i ran across this, ive seen it before but didnt know much about it. it looks leke a good alternitive to using carbon it does basically the same thing but it claims to be 500% more effective and doesnt effect ph or do the bad things that carbon does. ive read around online and it seems to have good reviews. you can even renew it by soaking it in 1:1 solution of beach. it is very fine particles and requires a very fine bag or floss in a reactor. heres the info about it from marine depot
SeaChem Purigen is a premium synthetic adsorbent that is unlike any other filtration product. It is not a mixture of ion exchangers or adsorbents, but a unique macro-porous synthetic polymer that removes soluble and insoluble impurities from water at a rate and capacity that exceeds all others, even HyperSorb, by over 500%. Purigen; removes proteins, nitrites and nitrates, ammonia, and a broad spectrum of organics, yet its impact on trace elements is minimal. It significantly raises redox. It polishes water to unparalleled clarity. Like HyperSorb, Purigen darkens progressively as it exhausts, and is easily renewed by treating with household bleach. A 100 mL bag of Purigen purifies and polishes up to 100 gallons of water for up to six months. Purigen is designed for both marine and freshwater use.
