hey all ive been reading up about algae scrubbers for some time now and i want to build one. ive got some ideas of how to build it from online resources such as http://algaescrubber.net/forums/ and lafishguy on youtube. supposedly you can run a fish or reef tank with only a algae scrubber no skimmer filter socks carbon ect.

what i plan to do is run a filter sock skimmer and a algae scrubber, not so that the water will be so clean nothing can live in it but so i can feed alot and not impact the water quality, the main point in running the scrubber for me will be to remove nitrates and phosphates ect ect

im going to be reading a bit more about these scrubbers and im going to attempt to build one. it going to be small and cheap but if i feel i get results ill build a full on coppy of the santamonica algae scrubber

well guys what do you think? have any of you all run ats before? if so what where your results?
