Thanxs dude i got 2 5 gallon jugs i am going to step my game up and not buy anymore sal****er stuff and save all of my money and set up a 55 gallon or 75 so i will have a way bigger and better system. Then i will get some t5s or leds and a sump with a protein skimmer and my own ro di system but i don't have a job so i can't buy stuff i will ask for a t5 system for my birthday i kno wi wil get that. But i think it will be better cuz my dad really likes yellow tang and so does my mom and i like to have alot of fish. How many fish could i have in a 75 gallon. My parents told me i could set up a nice ig aquarum in my living room if it was very silent. I will still be checking in here but when i turn 14 october 27 i will be back into reefing . Hey monty do you have a 75 gallon tank with a stand i have seen your phone muber on the moutain reef.

I don't know how much longer i will be in this hobby my dad got me a couple of really nice watyches in florida and i like fine watches he got me a rolex oyster perpetual datejust two 18k with crowned bezel a tag heuer 6000 series and an armani leather watch.
Doesn't Culligan water have a softener added to it? I've heard that it isn't good for SW use.
I think it would be wise to buy Salifert test kits for Alk, Cal & Mag.

but I'm no expert by far I just lost alot of stuff this week and have no idea why either, all of the tests I did show good I guess its some kind of biological warefare between sps and leathers and the sps lost along with some lps
yeah not trying to burst your bubble its just that in my opinion I think larger is easier to maintain but I do understand that space is an issue with me also I use the 7 gallon jugs they are blue they work pretty good for me on ebay they are selling portable ro di units now pretty cheap but on another note I thought that distilled water was bad to top off with I didnt think it was a good buffer thats what I read anyway. I know walmart used to sell 1 gallon jugs of ro di water for 35 cents maybe I cant remember
I am going to need it for top off i am getting a current usa sundial halide it is 64 watts of actinc 460nm i think and a 150watt halide in the center with timers built in and fans and a hanging kit with poles for 200.
I already filled up the tanks though. My parents really good friend and one of my shooting buddies billy jack the tattoer i can get the jugs from him full of distilled from calligan.
Keep the Distilled water around for top offs and dosing.... I'll loan you a 5 g jug and give another one Dude, take Zack up on the offer, you won't be sorry. This is GOOD advice.

I just use the five gallon plastic gas can that you can find at wal-mart in the auto section. I think that travis is talking about the green 6 gallon plastic jugs, Right? I have one of those as well but I always get water on the floor. The yellow disal 5 gallon jugs are great! That way you can see how much water is inside. Thats my 2 cents. I will give you some water but I don't know how we can do it maybe on a weekend or something. I work from 12PM to 8PM most nights. Plus I have to fill them up. I don't have a extra water I just make what I need. Have you tried some of the reef shops I think most sell it, or maybe monty could help out? Just let me know what you want to do.
if i could have a 75 gallon i would because my mom loves and i mean loves blue tangs and yellow tangs but there is no room and they hate the fact of live rock my mom almost passed out. When she went upstairs and saw 2 ft long bristle worm in my tank.
The only thing is i am a 13 year old kid i don't have money and free rule of the house for tanks like most my dad is very on everything likes . Our house is a story and although i have a bedroom of 30x20 the house is stickbuilt so i have to have a 10 gallon or less or no go from parents. I only want one fish maybe if i even get it and i want a sixline wrasse. I am going to go for most corals but no clams or corals that need direct feeding.
walmart has nice jugs in the camping supplies i would suggest getting a bigger tank when you can larger tanks are more stable and able to absorb more and wont have the wild swings like the small tanks and may want to stick the some of the more hearty corals and fish
Thanks yeah the clam died from the amonia from the rest of them dieing . He was very good and healthy my urchin did a good chop almost got it all but when my goniapora died everything died. My levels where all good. They were all good. No direct sunlight at all not even close.
Dude sory to hear about yout tanks did you lose your clam? the closest thing to ro is water from walmat that I know of you can get an ro filter on e bay for about 80.00 .Are your tanks in direct sunlight?
I don't have any tanks now due to my water is so bad with alage it killed all of my 3 gallon contents everything was fine then one day algae everywhere. That has happened twice will fowlr and then once with a reef i am going to set up a 10 gallon frag tank . I am wandering if anyone knows where i can get ro di water or if i can buy it off.
