Thanks! I think I'll drop by this evening. But do you know if there is also a freshwater or general tropical fish/aquarium club in the area?

Greetings. I just stumbled upon the forum as I was looking for an aquarium club in Johnson City. Turns out there is a meeting tonight at Aquatics & Exotics--not too far from my home. Crazy! I will try to make the meeting tonight if I can.

I've been thinking about getting back into the hobby after a 30-year hiatus. I suspect so much has changed in aquarium technology that I'd essentially be starting from scratch.

My basic question: the forum/club seems to be oriented toward marine aquaria, but are members into fresh water too? I was into marine a bit back in the day--being a big fan of Percula Clownfish and anemones (that mutualistic relationship really fascinated me), and Blue Devil Damselfish (beautiful, while not being very expensive). But I don't think I want to tackle saltwater now--at least not right away.

I have really been inspired by the work of Takashi Amano and his nature aquarium designs. It's really his stuff that has reawakened my interest.

Anyway, it was pretty neat finding out about this club. Let me know if fresh water is OK.

Thanks!
