thanks for the input guys and i like the idea of drilling the back panel! end the beananimal looks pretty cool too. now what about the return? what if i put a glass holes 700gph rated overflow in the center and a retun on each side, do you think it would be a good setup that way?
i think i can play with the glass holes overflow to make it quiet enough
either way, I'd definitely drill the back panel, not the bottom like most reef ready tanks are. The full height overflow boxes take up WAY to much tank real estate. May tank is a reef-ready, and I've seriously considered cutting the full height overflows out of it. They're freaking massive.
The most kick ass overflow is the BeanAnimal. You can put a ton of flow through one of these and still be dead quiet. It's prolly overkill for a 40G though.
hmmm well monty i didnt know why you needed this exactly at first... now i know tho!! well I work with fiberglass all day and we use the diamond blades n whatnot. Ill see if i can grab one from work for a few days.... you gonna help me setup my sump??? lol
Does anybody have a Diamond Hole Saw for 1 inch Bulkheads that I could borrow for a couple of days??? Thanks
