Yes Zoanthids are photosynthetic.

JT,
Fire and ice Zoanthinds are very nice and not hard to keep in a picco.biggrin
Just some suggestions tho about what I would keep in a small ocean environment such as a picco.
Stay with small frags of zoo's and mushrooms as the colors are limitless.
Because of the small water volume of the tank, changes of the chemistry can happen quick and be costly to the loss of lifecry 
I would recommend a close watch on my levels and very frequint water changes to keep the inhabtants happy.

What are some colorful corals i can put in my 2.5 pico with a 36w pc i want some bright and colorful ones i really like some fire and ice zoas what else is cool like that will the 36w be bright enough to keep green star polyp happy and green
