I'm Sorry you've lost your Grandfather JT, You're in our Prayers too. I miss my GrandDaddy still....lookin forward to seeing you at the next gathering.
Zak, These articles are lookin good, I like your idea of everyone reading them so we can come into the next meeting with our eyes open on the subject. Thanks
Since Slipper has started the "Feb Meeting" thread, I will probably close this one in a day or two. This is the first Thread on the TCRC Forum to split into two pages, pretty cool..... If anyone has anything to add to this thread, there's still a couple of days left. Monty

I should start a new topic but I found this very interesting and a great start for the next meeting. Eric Borneman spend a lot of time putting this together. The article is in two parts, first talks about how coral reproduce and the second is which ones have done it in captivity so far. I think everyone should try to read it before the next meeting. Maybe we can talk about part that are a little hard to understand. The link is http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-05/eb/index.php.
like 5 would be good sucks i couldn't make it to the jan meeting my grandfathers passed away :[ and thats a little more important the next one i will come to and i'll bring homeade cookies or brownies whichever my mom want to make and they will make you turn your frown :[ up sidedown :].
One of our new Members "Skimmer" has volunteered his Home for the February Meeting. So it seems we can go ahead with planning.
If we can get a date set soon enough, I will put in for the "OFF" time at work. Friday, Saturday or Sunday?
Welcome Aboard Skimmer!! you have a pm.
I'd like to hear more on Captive Coral Spawning. Maybe Advanced Water Chemistry Or even a look into the "Night Cycle" and controllers.

actualy now would be good, that way more people can plan on coming.I red where several people wished the meeting could of lasted longer ,that is why I recomended it start earlier in the afternoon like three.
We would like to thank everyone who came! We really had a great time! I am glad to see that 2009 is really starting out great for the club. I look forward to the next meeting and can't wait to talk to everyone again. Pics to come of the tanks on here soon, I need to take some up to date ones! Fisher84, thanks for the frag & mushroom, and lmk about the live rock! Slipper, great thanks to u for the advice! Let's keep this up everyone! When do we start planning Feb 09 Meeting lol
This was a really nice get together, the discussion was very interesting, I wish we could have kept on for a few hours but folks have to work. I think the Captive Coral Spawning subject should be explored much deeper. After tonite's meeting, I'm starting to think that things will pick up with this Club. Fisher84 is going to be our "Acting Chronicler" as long as he's in the area, until May, I think. Thanks for the RO/DI help. Good Post Man. Thanks (gr8ac), we enjoyed visiting your home. You guys are a lot of fun! Love your Tanks, we appreciate you holding a meeting there. I believe you both are going to be Assets to the TCRC. Also, Thanks to Slipper for the Discussion Topic, I'm going to be digging into this one for a while. Looking forward to the next meeting.

I first wanted to thank gr8ac for welcoming us into her home. It was wonderful to catch up with old friends and create new ones. Your all tanks were beautiful.
Club meeting minutes
The title was Conservation
We started the year off on a good note. We talked about how much the hobby has come in the past twenty years and where it is going. Coral propagation is something that could change the future. Not only are wild coral going to become more rare with time, but we might even be able to supplies the oceans one day with more hardy corals. This would allow corals to thrive in this ever changing world. Monty and I also brought some mushrooms to show and talk about soft coral propagation but didnt have time. So they were gifted to gr8ac for hospitality. I will bring some more mushrooms for the next meeting so we can try again. I hope the propagation demonstration will happen at most meetings. We also toughed on the subject of sexually reproduction of corals in the home reef system. This is a very new topic and something we can talk more about next time. We also gave gr8ac some ideas for turning their 90 gallon fish only into a reef aquarium. It will look great!
We already have a possibility for a location for the next meeting so stay posted for information. If you were unable to attend this one hope to see you at the next meeting.
I'm gonna step out to take care of some Hobby stuff, I'll be in and out of the forum all day. If anyone needs to call, you've got the number.

The 18th sounds great! Really what Im trying to do is get everything gone from the tank. Im ever around anymore and the live stock is suffering because of it. So I have rock, fish, and coral to get rid of. I decided to start with the coral. Unless someone want to buy it all, Izzy? I heard you on the radio talking about another tank? But I would love to keep the hardware so I can set it back up because I love this hobby. I just need a career first. So I have two trumpet coral (Caulastrea curvata), one with 11 heads the other 7 heads. One candy cane coral (Caulastrea furcata) with 18 heads. One green Trachyphyllia brain I think it has 4 mouths on it. One moon brain 2 fist size so many head I cant count them all. Same with my Blastomussa merleti I would say 60 plus. It is red with green center. I think that is the right name it the blastomussa with smaller heads, it is fist size. One red with green center Blastomussa wellsi the fleshy one with 16 plus heads. I have a rock that is the size of a 5 star notebook that is coved with red and green striped mushrooms. I also have a rock that is about ¾ of the notebook with palys on it I not sure what kind. Jtreefer27 I have so many mushrooms that they are floating away if you would like some I could find some laying around for you, if you are interested? I also have two chromis and two ocellaris clownfish and other odds and ends. Like I said I will pictures with me at the meeting if anyone is interested. I also have some kind of sps that has had a hard life but has stayed with me, barely. I was thinking of bringing it an letting who everyone wants it have it. Sorry for the large post.
Hi everyone! I am in Bristol, TN near THS off Edgemont Ave. I have plenty of room should we get a big group. If the meeting is at my house is convenient for everyone, just let me know. The 18th would be the best for us. I am excited that everyone is going to get together and look forward to it!
If everyone's cool with it, Let's set the Meeting for the 18th.

I was contacted by a New Member, (gr8ac), she says that they are better for the 18th and sounds excited to come. I'd like to have them at this meeting and if we do it on the 18th, it will give us more time to plan. Now, all we need is a place.
